FINAL CALL!!! SEEKING NOMINATIONS TO NHPGR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Fellow Patriots

Nominations to the NHPGR BoD positions of Secretary and Member at Large will close on Friday 3-24-17 at 1800 hrs. If you have someone you’d like to nominate please submit your nomination per the below email ASAP!

Absentee voting will open on Saturday 3-25-17, directions on how to cast your absentee ballot will be included in an email sent on Saturday 3-25-17.

The NHPGR Board of Directors (BoD) are seeking nominations for the positions of Secretary and Member at Large. In the interest of ensuring clarity please know that the NHPGR BoD is a completely separate/independent entity from the National PGR BoD. In addition the NHPGR BoD deals SOLELY with the financial support of NH Veterans and their families in need, the BoD supports the Honor Mission side of the NHPGR house.

The Secretary’s term of office is for 3 years while the Member at Large term of office is for one year, neither office has a term limit. Election of the NHPGR Secretary and Member at Large will be conducted at our annual BoD meeting on Sunday 9 April 2017 via secret ballot by all NHPGR members in attendance. Again this year we will accept absentee votes, please watch for an email in the near future regarding absentee voting procedures.

The following is a brief description of the duties/responsibilities of each office:

NHPGR Secretary:

  • Keep the minutes and records of the organization in appropriate books. It shall be his/her duty to file any certificate(s) required by any statute, federal or state.

  • The Secretary shall give and serve all notices to members of this organization.

  • The Secretary shall be the official custodian of the records and seal of this organization.
  • The Secretary may be one of the officers required to sign the checks and drafts of the organization.
  • The Secretary shall present to the membership at any meetings any communication addressed to him/her as Secretary of the organization.

  • The Secretary shall submit to the Board of Directors any communications, which shall be addressed to him/her as Secretary of the organization.

  • The Secretary shall attend to all correspondence of the organization and shall exercise all duties incident to the office of Secretary.

NHPGR Member at Large:

  • There are no specific duties assigned the Member at Large, however it is specified that while serving in the Member-at-Large position, they will not be eligible to serve in a Leadership position with the NHPGR. This will include the positions of State Captain, Deputy State Captain, Senior Ride Captain, Ride Captain, Ride Captain in Training, Flag Line Captain, HOTH Coordinator, Tall Flags Coordinator or any leadership position that may be created in the future.
In submission of your nomination you are participating in a process to choose leaders who will play a major role in the NHPGR’s financial direction for the next few years. Ask yourself if the person you want to nominate has shown the dedication and commitment to our members and the mission, and has the ability to represent the NHPGR in a positive light, and move our organization forward. Please keep in mind that the Board of Directors is a service position which requires several hours of effort, only compensated by the satisfaction of guiding the NHPGR’s financial support of NH Veterans and their families in need into the future. An added benefit would be if your nominee has previous experience being on a 501(c)3 Board of Directors. Of utmost importance, nominees should demonstrate the desire to represent all members equally and with respect, while avoiding politics and bureaucracy which could hinder the execution of the mission. It is helpful if they have a thick skin, are slow to anger, and can think on their feet.

The deadline for submission of nominations is 31 March 2017, please submit your nomination by responding to this email or calling me directly at 603-533-8154.

Respectfully

It’s Not A Mission, It’s An HONOR
