The family of Cpl. John Dawson and the 101st Airborne Association, Massachusetts Special Events, have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to a memorial service for Cpl. John Dawson on 06 June 17. Cpl. Dawson was a medic in the 101st Airborne Division and was killed in Jalalabad, Afghanistan in April 2015. Cpl. Dawson is from Whitinsville, MA and the PGR attended his services, of which is family was deeply grateful. As a token of their appreciation they have extended an invite to all members of the PGR to attend a memorial service to held for their son at sea. This will be a combination memorial service and fishing trip aboard the Captain Lady’s III out of Plum Island in Newburyport, MA. The boat will be departing at approximately 10:30 AM. We will travel several miles out to sea, have the memorial service, then engage in some fishing. I expect the boat to return no later than 5 PM. The trip will be conditional on the weather, however, should it be necessary to reschedule, we will be advised accordingly.
We will be staging at Pearson Plaza at 9:30 AM, which is located just off exit 55 (Central Street), Route 95 in Byfield, MA. The address is 2 Fruit Street, Byfield, MA 01922. Both motorcycles and cages are welcome. From there we will proceed to Plum Island and arrive as a group to greet the family and fellow veterans aboard the fishing boat. Fly your flags if you have them. Parking will be provided at Plum Island.
