The family of Colonel Paul F. Lessard, USMC Retired, Combat Veteran, Korea and Vietnam, has invited the PGR to stand and ride in his Honor on Monday, June 5, 2017 and Tuesday, June 6, 2017. The Colonel enlisted in 1951 as a PFC and rose up through the ranks, attending Officer Candidate School via the “Meritorious Noncommissioned Officer Program” and later graduated from both the Armored Officers Career Course at Ft. Knox, KY and the Armed Forces Staff College in Norfolk, VA. Throughout his career, in which he was affectionately known as the “Godfather of the Tank Corps,” he was proud to be a hard charging “Mustang” who held a deep commitment to and affection for “his Marines.” He served in 19 duty stations and was decorated on 14 occasions including 2 Legion of Merits with Combat “V” for gallantry in combat and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. Lessard retired from active service as Colonel of Marines serving as Chief of Staff at Quantico Marine Base where he attended Officer’s Candidate School 27 years prior.

Staging will take place at the rear parking lot of Remick and Gendron Funeral Home.  Tall flags will be provided.

Funeral Service Flag Line: Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 289 Lafayette Rd., Hampton NH

Staging: 11:15am

Briefing: 11:25am

Flag line: 11:30am

Staging will be at the north side of the church parking lot.  Tall flags will be provided. Shortly after the church service commences at noon, the flag line will be dismissed and those able are asked to proceed to the High Street Cemetery in Hampton for the interment service Flag Line.

Motorcycle Briefing: 12:30pm

KSU: 12:45pm

Staging will be at Seacoast Harley Davidson, 17 Lafayette Rd, North Hampton, NH .  We will proceed from there, as a group, to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, to minimize disruption of the funeral service.  Whereupon we will be escorting Colonel Lessard and his funeral procession from the church to his final resting place at High Street Cemetery. 3X5 flags are encouraged. When entering the parking lot PLEASE do so quietly as the funeral service will be in progress!

    Thank you Lauri for standing in the cold and the rain and to the brave PGR members on their motorcycles. It sure felt like 6 January and not 6 June. Hope we’re over the cold weather for the rest of the summer.
